• the template
• the color
• direction of traffic
• reading and analyzing the vehicle registration document

• measurements of vehicle dimensions and load
• and license plate (FR, EU or International)

Application examples

There are many applications that we can process optically on the basis of an ALPR model. In these cases, we systematically start by detecting the vehicle, reading the license plate and measuring/extracting the other desired data. In this way, we can count vehicles and statistically study roads and freeways. Or traffic circles, as shown in the illustration below.

This last application could be of great interest to urban planning, the police, statistical and economic institutes. Other applications include monitoring compliance with zones closed to heavy goods vehicles, one-way traffic in cities, logistics management for warehouses, decision support for industry, parking management, etc.

We generally use customized AI(Deep Learning) models coupled with Optical Character Recognition (OCR). In addition, processing is carried out using Edge Computing, i.e. as close as possible to the sensors or in Cloud Computing.
